UNDERGROUND FAYRE TO LAND AT COTSWOLD AIRPORT FOR 2027
A new three day independent music and arts festival will take flight at Cotswold Airport next summer, bringing together music, creativity, great food, real ale and a team with decades of festival experience.

Underground Fayre has announced that its first festival will take place at Cotswold Airport in Gloucestershire from 9–11 July 2027, creating a new independent event in one of the most distinctive festival settings in the country.
Set amongst the open spaces, woodland and aviation heritage of the airport, the three-day camping festival will combine established artists with emerging talent across multiple stages, alongside late-night entertainment, independent food traders, real ale, family areas and some deliberately unexpected corners to discover.
At the heart of the site will be one of Cotswold Airport’s most recognisable residents, Negus, the Boeing 747, forming the backdrop to the main stage and becoming part of the festival itself.
Underground Fayre has been created by a group of people who have previously founded, built and operated their own independent festivals. Having worked alongside one another and been friends over many years, they are now bringing their experience, ideas and audiences together for something completely new.
The organisers said:
“We wanted to create the sort of festival we would genuinely want to spend a weekend at ourselves. Independent, welcoming, slightly unconventional and small enough that it still feels like you are part of it rather than simply attending it.
Cotswold Airport gives us an extraordinary canvas. There are aircraft, woodland, huge skies and some incredible spaces to work with. We don’t want to disguise where we are, we want the character of the airport to become part of Underground Fayre.
We have all spent years creating festivals in different ways. This is an opportunity to bring that experience together, split the burden between each other, start again with a blank sheet of paper and build something we’re proud of.”
The festival will launch at a deliberately limited capacity, allowing the team to establish the event carefully rather than pursuing rapid growth. Its longer-term aim is to remain smaller by design and independent by choice.
Local businesses will also form an important part of the event, with the organisers looking to work with independent suppliers, breweries, food traders and contractors from Gloucestershire and the surrounding area wherever possible.
The first music announcements and further details of the different areas of Underground Fayre will be revealed over the coming months.
A limited ticket pre-sale will open ahead of the full Early Bird release.
